Dusseldorf

Dusseldorf event entertainment

Before you start to plan your corporate event in Dusseldorf / Germany in 2024, we provide some key facts that might help you to make the best out of it. (Please be aware that we Germans write the word “Dusseldorf” with two dots above the letter u, the so-called Umlaut.)

Time zone (time in Germany)

In Germany, we use Central European Time (CET). We are 1 hour ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), but only from November to March! From the last Sunday in March until the last Sunday in October we use Summertime, called Central European Summer Time (CEST). Then we are 2 hours ahead of UTC.

Airport (flights to Dusseldorf)

Dusseldorf airport has a capacity of over 20 million passengers, no comparison to Frankfurt airport with over 70 million. In case you can not get a direct flight to Dusseldorf you might have to fly to Frankfurt first. If you don’t want to wait for your connection flight, you might consider taking a taxi (it is a 2 to 3 hours drive), or you take the train, which starts directly at Frankfurt airport and brings you to Dusseldorf central station in only 1.5 hours.

Hotels

As the capital of the state North-Rhine-Westphalia, the city has to host many visitors from Germany and from all over the world all the time, especially during an international fair. No wonder we have many hotels in this town, from cheap hotels (like ibis budget near the airport) to 5star hotels (like Breidenbacher Hof in the centre). In case you have a decent budget you might choose a hotel near the centre, so people might go out and enjoy the nightlife by visiting pubs or night clubs after your event. If you do not join a fair and have to hold a meeting, incentive, convention or conference, probably you want to choose a hotel where you can have it all: your day time programme, your reception and dinner, and rooms for your participants.

Venues for hire

In Dusseldorf, there are plenty of venues for hire. How many people will you attend? How many rooms will you need? Do you need a hall? From 10 people to 50.000, Dusseldorf offers various corporate event venues for hire – ask us!

Things to do

First of all, the city has a picturesque historical centre, the Altstadt, where you will find many traditional pubs and where you can have a promenade at the river Rhine.

We germans LOVE our German beer. In Dusseldorf, we prefer to drink Altbier, usually called Alt. It tastes milder than a lager beer and has no blond but brown or copper colour – thanks to top-fermenting.

In December, you might benefit from the popular Christmas market in Dusseldorf. Visiting Dusseldorf is family-friendly: there is no red light area in the centre. Part of the nightlife are various night clubs that open and close from time to time – especially after Covid19. The city is famous for its international boat show.

In the west of Germany, especially around Cologne and Dusseldorf, we like to celebrate carnival, which we call Karneval (whereas in the south of Germany carnival is called Fasching. In the north and east of Germany carnival is not popular – so don’t go there!)

Events

Apart from sound & light / PA hire for speeches and illumination, it would be best if you always had entertainers with background music. But as well singers, dancers, celebrity look-alikes (doppelganger/doubles and tribute singers), typical local artists, function bands (or regular german bands), male DJs or female DJs (so-called DJanes). We gladly provide entertainment for your events.
